This is the story
of our first pregnancy. We are about to nose dive into the unfamiliar
territory called parenthood. For 2 years we've been giving ourselves all
kinds of excuses to be a childless couple. We've said that a child will
dramatically change our lifestyle; no more working late for me, no more
let's-pack-and-go weekends, no more let's-be-lazy-weekend etc. We also
worry that the world is not a very good place to raise a child at this
time, too much violence, hopelessness. But then we looked at friends who
just had their first, second and fourth babies...they seem to cope. We
started to hear our biological clock ticking ever so loudly. The longer
we put it off, the more dangerous it gets for mom and baby. People are
telling us that if we wait for our household to become financially and
emotionally prepared to have a baby, we will never be ready. Finally, we
decided..what the heck..let's just have a baby. que sera sera, what will
be , will be. Early this year we started. We told ourselves that if we
get pregnant, fine. But if we don't, we are not going out of our way to
have a child. There is always the adoption route. But here we are..3
months later... |
